Amanda Maltese, DVM

Dr. Amanda Maltese earned her Bachelor’s degree, with high distinctions, from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. At WPI, she did research in neuro-endocrinology, studied abroad, volunteered at the Franklin Park Zoo, and worked at a cat and bird clinic. Dr. Maltese went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University.

Dr. Maltese values the importance of having compassion and good listening skills. Her clients readily recognize her passion for medicine and her dedication to the care of their pets. She stays current with the latest diagnostics and treatments. Dr. Maltese has special interests in internal medicine, chronic disease management, pain control, and critical care.

When not working Dr. Maltese enjoys time with her family and baking. She has a one eyed Boston terrier named Kanga.

Gary selmonsky, DVM

Dr. Gary Selmonsky has been an important addition to the Islip community since his arrival in February 1988. Born and raised on Long Island, Islip was a natural fit. Although at first contemplated continuing as an Equine veterinarian at Belmont Racetrack, where he assisted for 5 years, he returned to his great love of small animal medicine.

Dr. Selmonsky would like to thank the local community for all of their support over the years. He is honored to care for our very important companions. When not caring for your pets, Dr. Selmonsky and his wife Rosio enjoy skiing, scuba diving, art museums, theatre, their two Italian greyhounds (Sophia and Marchello) and their Yorkie (Millie).
